FELMAUSA president-elect, Hon. Mohamed S. Bility, has launched the process of taking over the leadership by announcing a transition team and an inaugural committee. The president-elect empowered Musa Kamara of Minnesota to do whatever is necessary to make the switch go smoothly. The transition team is consisted of five members including Abraham Fofana, Al Donzo, Abraham Bility and Kalifala Bility. He urged the team to work as diligently as possible to make this transition successful.
The chairman, Musa Kamara, described his appointment as “a good journey” and said it is a journey that has taken him to where he wants to be and it is serving this beloved Federation. Musa kamara’s public service includes serving as president of Minnesota Mandingo Association and chief campaign strategist for the campaign to elect Hon. Mohamed S. Bility.
Abraham Fofana, who also holds a Juris Doctor Degree (JD), may not be as famous as the chairman. He was the special consultant on Bility’s campaign and played a pivotal role in his presidential bid. In an interview with him shortly after his appointment, Mr. Fofana said “it is incredibly important for the team to have the resources it needs to act immediately” he said “he is honored to be part of this important process and together, this team will take the necessary steps to act in the best interest of FELMAUSA”.
The transition team is also expected to work on fact finding, to evaluate the challenges FELMAUSA is up against and some of the potential opportunities.
Meanwhile, Hon. Lusine Kamara of Philadelphia, PA was also named chairman of the inaugural committee. The committee is comprised of men of astonishing scope and accomplishment - much like our own Federation. The committee includes the leaders of every chapter, Phelicia Bamba, Talata Sheriff and Abdulaye Quisiah.
